I know this is kind of strange. I am a Chinese, but I don’t use my mother tongue for this all Chinese website. Well, I am probably facing the same difficulty as many other people whose mother tongue is not English. To write in English, the most uncomfortable one will be for my parents and also some of my friends back in Beijing, since they cannot read it and understand what I am thinking about. But to write in Chinese means that a lot of people who don’t understand Chinese will not be able to read it as well. So it is truly a dilemma.

So is there a way of solving it? Yes. To have two versions at the same time.

Well, that sounds perfect, except not practical. Even if I have mastered both languages proficient enough to do the translation, we all know that the translated version will lose its essence compared to the original texts. (And I think that is why we can only appreciate Shakespear the best in English and “红楼梦” in Chinese.) Furthermore, I just wouldn’t be able to find the time to do that because my Chinese typing skills is super lousy.

Therefore, (this really sounds more and more like a GP essay. ) I choose to use English more frequently not only because the need to communicate to a wider range of people, but also because I sometimes feel it is easier to express myself in English than in Chinese. Strange indeed!

Wuvist: ok ok not the "fucking online diaries". You are right somehow. Deepshock: You must realize some Chinese are not so fortunate to type their thoughts in Chinese!!!

funchoate……如果两个人连使用的语言都不一样……还怎么交流？现在博客风上面的人基本上都能够接受中英文的……跟你的日记说差得远的……别人就算看懂了你跟竹子对白又怎样？看懂了你贴的无数的歌曲又怎样？谁敢再跟我提博客是网络日记，我跟谁急！

哈哈，这也要declare一下啊。翁伟你也太……前后矛盾了吧，不是说博客是一种交流工具么，怎么也该考虑一下读者吧？“网志是属于博客自己的……表现的是自己的思想……为什么要管别人是不是看得懂呢”这个不就是我所坚持的日记说嘛。

我觉得随便什么语言都成啦……好东西，写出来，别人看不懂，是别人的问题……网志是属于博客自己的……表现的是自己的思想……为什么要管别人是不是看得懂呢？到目前为止，除了中英文，博客风上面还出现过法文以及德文的blog……那两篇东西，我都看不懂，但是，我看的时候，照样觉得很开心……:P
