Professor Alexander Tzonis is Professor of Architectural Theory at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and Director of the AKS-AIIA research group on architectural cognition. A graduate of Yale University, he was Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University until 1981, and has held visiting professorships at Columbia University, Universities of Montreal and Strasbourg. He is General Editor of the Garland Architectural Archives. Among his publications are:
· The shape of Community (with Serge Chermayeff, 1971),
· Towards a Non-Oppressive Environment (1972),
· Classical Architecture (1986),
· European Architecture since 1968 (1992),
· Architecture in North America since 1960;
· a novel, Hermes and the Golden Thinking Machine (1990),
· Critical Regionalism (with Liane Lefaivre, 2003)

In this lecture Professor Alexander Tzonis will introduce some new ideas about the possible relation between classical Chinese and classical Greek architecture. He would also present his new book on Ancient Greek Architecture.

Our tutor told us that :

Go and travel, you got to have a trip arround Europe in your undergraduate years. (if you have the money)

Travel to places of difference culture and environment, know your community, getting touch with your people, know what you are doing.

Altough you might be busy, spend time to read the architecture journals in the libraby as a form of relaxation, just let the images running over your mind, to know what is going out in the architectural world currently.

Read more on the history of art and architecture, not only the modern era but the ancient as well. It is heritage and well of inspiration.

Do eat nutritious food and have some form of excercise before the submission...you can go out and relax for a few minutes or half an hour to release the intangled brain. ( it is impossible when you are staying over...rushing for the deadline)
I conclude that my weaknesses are:
The ability to handle color, texture and material.
IT skill like softwares, webpage making skill ect.
Presentaion skill
Media drawing skill
Not enough exposure to the world
Have not gotten the essence of design
...
ect. ect...
oppose. spent to much time here... time is running out...
My day is too short, my life is too short!
