【art & architecture】BAUHAUS |
|

It is a beneficial book to read, as I get to know more about the revolution in art and art education at the turn of last centuray. Besides, I know more about why and how we architecture students are educated in this or that way... what I have learned from my first year study and what I am short of...
Inovation and creativity, talent in art, strong intuition and ''sense'' ( I would call it this way), all these are important in design field. Those bid designers they are blessed with these talents.
There is logic in art as well. I am talking about visual art. You sense but you reason too. Hmm, I am not very clear about this concept... as it was described in the book, it is the conflict of different ideas that brought the modern art out the shadow of classical art...
When I was young I read the biography of the scentists; now I turn to the artists. A lot of artists are 神秘主义者.They believe that art could reveal something about life. Most of the them are painters. However, there are artists believe in order and reason too. For art, including architecture, theories and concepts are always related to philosophy. The battle of designs becomes the battle of personal philosophies, the arguements last forever... there is even no one universal truth.
It is the nature of the architecure course--conflicts and arguements. Our tutors reminded us when they had their heated arguements and oral fights over our designs. We students speak with trembling voice await our designs to be ''trashed'' by them....
haiz.. I questioned my ability to be a qualified artist in future. I am not that imaginative, I don't possess the power and acute visual sensing capability as some artists are blessed with. Altough for art there is not age difference, but talent, is such an inborn characteristic, just like beauty and health, and it is even more precious than beauty...
woo, stop complaining... I think the most beautiful thing in life is that you do what your strength lies, and your talents flourish into beautiful fruits.
Finally, I assert that, I agreed with astrid's mom (white oleander), loneliness is a common human condition, no one would fill up the space...
