spontaneity, immediacy & expressiveness in conceptualisation and execution of "intmate style landscape painting" is highly valued.

 

我想到 blog. 作小文章。就是要信手拈来，文心荟萃。

 

after neo-classism, the romantism, realism, impressionism, post-impressionism... could be categorized to be under the unbrella of modern art. It is only  from romantic era, people treat the art as a media of expression (self-expression). In modern art, we expect such expression of emotion, mode of feeling.. in a painting.

 

这是文艺复兴以后的事了。我开始对历史的时间和空间敏感起来。绘画作为个人感性的发挥，这在山水画是宋年间的事，似乎一直以来都是。。严格的说，照我有限的阅读和理解，如果把个人风格的凸现和对精细模仿的放弃作为更清晰的界限的话，那么东方开始用 “心”用 “情”写“意”，也比西方早很多。

比较西东（西方学者爱干的事），西方眼花缭乱的风格变化哪，也能在东方一脉相承的山水画里找出些笔风相似的对应来。比如印象派，抽象派。只能说笔法相似。

 

西方发现了 linear perspective 从此发现了新的空间和人类的无限可能。

perspective, volumetric...  我们的祖先却偏爱 "pattern" "order" in nature. 偏爱： 留白，烟雾，水，光，浓淡的远近和神秘的空。atmospheric perspective 是我喜欢的一个词。

画儿的 material aspect 是笔和墨，是明和暗，形和色彩。这些是静的，死的；活的是画上飘出来的光，我们的视觉思维情感对 artist 的 expression & intentions 的反应。
Gothic architecture 的高高的vaults、 柱、窗…… 也是死的，活的是走进中世纪教堂那种强烈的向上的力，向上，向上，冲上 pointed vault 没有形的阻挡；光透过彩玻璃犹如上帝的启蒙和力量。这些实的死的struture, technology, techniques， 给我们灵魂的感受和震撼。

我们把它叫做 Peotics.

"活的是走进中世纪教堂那种强烈的向上的力，向上，向上，冲上 pointed vault 没有形的阻挡"稀饭稀饭。惭愧啊，俺虽然亲眼瞻仰过哥特式教堂，可从没看出任何门道。今日有幸拾拾娃娃的牙慧顿时能让俺心中豁然开朗。
