It seems like everyday there is a Fortune 500 company coming to campus to conduct recruitment talk... UBS, CitiBank, Barclays, JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, P&G, Morgan Stanley, ABN Amro, HSBC... And it's not surprising to find out of so many, only P&G is NOT a financial institution and management company. Howevr, it is still recuiting for its Financial Challenge Week... So everything boils down to finance. Is it like the hottest job around? Is this THE career path? To be an investment/consumer/global banker in a major financial managemen company? As a Banking and Finance major student, I've yet to develope enough interest in this area to see myself spending life in front office. I'm intrigued by the dynamism and complexity of such firms, but I have doubts whether this is my life devotion. I suspect I may have stronger interest somewhere else. As of now, an internship will prove whether it is true. The good news is that I still have time to try. All hail the job that pays the rent!
