My first choice of major in the SAT questionairre forms was child pschology.
Now I'm seriously considering what majors I may take up in universities. Pure sciences are out of questions for sure... Yeah have enough of the hard-core facts and calculations. I confess I'm not scientifically oriented.... What I am interested in would be social sciences, the study of human.
Psychology, what ounds like a mysterious and interesting subject, is a dynamic and growing discipline. Dedicated to the scientific study of mind and behavior, psychologists study a wide range of topics, including the neural bases of learning and memory, reasoning, decision making, vision, language, sleep and dreams, hypnosis, infancy, childhood and adult development, intelligence, attitudes and persuasion, leadership, aggression, ethnic diversity and prejudice, group dynamics, personality testing, depression, and psychotherapy. Many psychologists work in applied settings as well, in the areas of health and medicine, business, education, law, sports, politics, and the environment. ( adapted from Williams College)
And why child psychology? Didn't Tagore write that every child is a reminder that God has not lost hope in men? To me, children are the most beautiful creatures on this Earth... I wish to work with them, to help them in whatever way possible. Child psychology, an area less explored than others, seems to have great potential for development.
