Heard the story from Darius at today's ETDF Gathering @ NUS. Found it really interesting...

One day, a man decided to cook a soup for all people in the village. He prepared fire and a big bowl, put water and a stone in the bowl, and started cooking. Everyone is so surprised by his act and curious to see how he can cook a bowl of soup from water.

The man approached one villager and asked:" May I have an onion? All I need for the soup is an onion." The villager thinks that one onion cost little to him, and gave an onion to the man.

The man approached another villager and asked:" May I have a carrot? All I need for the soup is another carrot." The villager gave him a carrot.

The man then approached many other villagers and asked for different food. Gradually, the man has onion, carrot, sausage, cabbage.... and many many ingredients that are needed for the soup. The man the cooked a very delicious bowl of soup with all ingredients and shared with the villagers.

Moral of the story: An extensive network and good contacts which enables you to seek help and tap on the expertise of all friends will turn your idea into reality... of course, unless you are the son of Bill Gates where you already have all ingredients needed for the soup...
