【Apple & Orange】232MB Printer Driver Update?

Leopard Printer Driver

I didn't install any printer driver during the Leopard installation. Later when I plugged my Canon ip1700 printer, I installed the driver that I downloaded from Canon website. When I checked system update the next time, above window was what I get!

WTF, is that +230MB update really necessary for my little printer? Clearly Apple has packed together all drivers for Canon's ever manufactured printers, but who the hell will need them all? I know the need for them to present in the Installation DVD, but can Apple find a better way to packaging its hardware driver? Clearly the system has detected that I have installed a new Canon printer, otherwise it won't give me that update windows. Then why doesn't Apple just give me what I need?

Yeah, that's what I was suspecting.
