【Apple & Orange】How to Install Leopard on normal PC

First of all, I strongly recommend everyone who is interested on Mac to buy a Mac themselves! Leopard on normal PC or X86project is only for technical study purpose and I will not be responsible for anything.

I am assuming that you already had a Patched Leopard DVD by BrazilMac and the postinstallation patches, as well as a CD from Kalyway called "Format & Make Bootable HD for Leopard". Don't ask me where to download them, I will only tell you that a it is green demonoid's fault.

I am also assuming that your PC can run it, which you will find it out yourself in insanelymac forum.

You also need a USB drive.

Step 1: burn the patched DVD file to a DVD and burn the CD file to a CD.

Step 2: inside the postinstallation patch files, open the file "9a581PostPatch.sh" and find these section:

IFS=$'\n' # important!
PATCH="/Users/XXX/Desktop/leopatch/" # path to the patched extensions
LEO="/Volumes/Leopard" # path to Leopard installation

change it to:

IFS=$'\n' # important!
PATCH="/Volumes/PATCHER/files/leopatch/" # path to the patched extensions
LEO="/Volumes/Leopard" # path to Leopard installation

Save it. Format the USB drive to FAT32 and name it to "PATCHER", all Captital letters. find the "files" folder inside the post-install patches and put it into USB drive. So when you browse into your USB Drive, there should be only one folder called "files", inside which are a "leopatch" folder and a "9a581PostPatch.sh" file..

Step 3: boot from the CD. Format your drive using the "Disk Utility", make sure that the partition you are going to install Leopard on is named "Leopard", with the first letter as capital. then Install the patch file onto that "Leopard" partition and reboot.

Step 4: While rebooting, eject your CD and put your DVD in and boot your PC from your DVD. Choose your language, click "Customized" and deselect all the packages(They are simply not in the DVD, so if you select anyone of them, you will not be able to finish the installation.). Finish the rest of the installation and reboot.

Step 4: Don't boot-into your Leopard now. Make sure your USB dirve is plugged in and boot from your DVD again. After selected your language, Go to "Tool">"Terminal". Type as following:

Cd ..
Cd ..
Cd ..
Cd /Volumes/PATCHER/files/
./9a581Postpatch.sh

Reboot.

Step 5. Now you can boot into your Leopard partition and enjoy it. If you don't know how to boot into your Leopard partition, press "F12" when PC boots up and choose the correct HDD to boot from.
