【Apple & Orange】Transfer Files from LG KU970 to Leopard
First of all, I have installed Mac OS X 10.5, Leopard on my normal PC! It works flawlessly and I think I will post some how-to instruction later. Now I want to talk about Bluetooth and Mobilephone. After the installation of Leopard, the very first two things that I wanted to check is how to transfer pictures from my LG KU970 phone and how to write blog post using some bloging apps. For the second one, it seems quite disappointed, because I actually missed Windows Live Writer! I found out there are few blog apps available for Mac, such as Ecto, MarsEdit, Myblog, etc. None of them can beat WLW, on usability, extension, as well as blog support range. But at last I figured out how to use MarsEdit, and I have to switch my picture hosting to Flickr, because it doesn't have build-in Picasa support. For the only flickr support it gives, it is really limited and worst of all, it is not a WYWIWYS editor. I can bear that. At least it support the Categories in blogwind. (I am writing this post in MarsEdit) For the bluetooth thing, to be honest, I thought it won't be any difficult than those in Windows, if not better. But I have a very painful start. The build-in Bluetooth Driver instantly recognized my bluetooth adapter as well as my LG KU970 mobile phone.

I can send files TO my mobile phone just using the bluetooth icon menu, but where is the "Receive file" option? I couldn't find it anywhere inside the Bluetooth setting. So I started to look for any bluetooth apps for Mac and tried them one by one, just hoping that one of them can give me that option, sadly, none of them helped! What the hell? I cannot believe that Mac OS X can be so frustrating! Only seconds before I went mad, did I find the solution! It is so damn simple! It is under "Share" setting!

After I enabled it, everything was coming together. Now I don't have to do anything to my Mac before I send files from my phone. While in Windows, you have to right click the Bluetooth System tray icon and select "Receive a file". Now after receiving my file transfer request, my Mac will pop-up a window to let me accept it or it can accept it automatically if you let it so. Most importantly, I can receive multiple files at a single click! Windows only allows you to receive one file at a time!

This is what i was talking about! So simple and user-friendly!
