My first day of "proper" work was spent in a small restaurant. I thought I was supposed to be a waitress but ended up, somehow, "helping out in the kitchen"----cutting and washing for the whole morning. Not a toooooooooooo tiring job neither was it a slack one . I think as the number of their customers increases, I will be serving food too. The bosses were quite nice, probably because there were not many of us outsider helpers----it was somewhat a family-friends business according to my speculation. The pay is not good though. Just taking it as a chance to meet new people and to see how a restaurant works. Maybe in future I will be managing a restaurant too, who knows! haha... Not bad, had real restaurant food for lunch, though 8 people sharing two dishes only, and one small bowl of rice for everyone... My painstakingly cut pumpkin was made into soup----a huge portion of which was left over ( maybe they'll use it for dinner)

Yesterday went for the USP interview. I enjoyed the interview tremendously and was surprised to know from the ang mo interviewer that she actually had students from the city I am from! Now I really wish I had not anyhow did my application essay...should have spent much more effort on it rather than a last minute rush! Really hope to get in.

Then after the interview went for the farewell dinner for chenling. Everyone was stunned by linya's beauty, haha... Don't know when we will be seeing them the next time. Glad for them. But when they were waving goodbye to us and the MRT doors were closing, felt bit sad ( I believe I was not the only one feeling sad). Like what mum said, in our lifetime we keep making friends and losing them. Even though we keep saying "keep in contact", we may still lose each other as distance is a powerful "separator" although technology nowadays is much more advanced. That was why I was sad. Ok I shan't be pessimistic.

firstly congrats for ur first job...
actually i was quite sad that we can't become collegues. but according to my supervisor the quota of foreigners for our station has been full.. i guess that was the main reason... sobsob...

actually i fully agree with wad u have written in your last paragraph... but there are too many things we just have to let go... was abit sad when i met cl on wed, though we all din show it...
