Lan2 Feng1 Zheng1. Forgot that I have actually watched it--jj borrowed from Jingxian library last time. But good movies need to be revised.
-Your generation don't understand the movie.
-We do.
-You don't.
I think I can understand at least 80% based on my prior knowledge from other info sources, including books, documentries and, of course, the accounts of "the previous generation".
What I don't understand is:
Just one line: "Sorry, we were wrong. It was our fault." What magic power does this line possess? The Japanese won't say it. The CCP won't say it. What is so diffcult about admitting our own wrong-doings to our people? If we ourselves are unable to face the past when we brought shame to our history, how can we demand apology from others? How can we be respected by others?

if you admit you were wrong, you fear you will lose power---that's why those in power would never admit it.
