'My boyfriend must be a car owner.', that's the translation for the title.

The first time I heard that was from my friend Justin. He mentioned that in his company (Hyflux), almost all Singaporean girls are expecting their future husband to be a car owner.

And just now on my way back to hostel, just downstairs, I heard a Singaporean girl said that by herself while she was chatting with a couple. The guy drives.

Didn't the government just mention that it will try to reduce Singaporeans' dependency on cars and trying to promote public transport? (TODAYonline article here, screw the subscription-only The Straits Times Interactive)

Well, they need to change Singapore girls' minds first.

haha, okie, tats very true. dar's many desperate guy frens are all single till they own a car. but surprising, the girls are not singaporeas! one is from fujian (china) and the other is from malacca (malaysia) leh! really... so its not only singapore girls. its girls mindset on a whole.

我个人觉得开车是为了方便。新的公共交通在高峰时比开车还快，而且又不用为找停车位发愁。再说新的地方这麽小，开起来也跑得不爽呀。每次看到漂亮的跑车都为它们惋惜。另外开车的消耗那麽大，我看和打车也差不多了。
